The Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (Southeast Bahia State University) is a multicamp system. The Rectorship is located in the town of Vitória da Conquista in the State of Bahia. The University offers courses in the area of education (sciences, physics, chemistry, mathematics, history, geography, and letters) agronomy, zoology, business administration, accountancy and nursing.

Throughout its existence, in spite of its few years of life, the University is developing activities of social impact as part of a regional community. It has fulfilled its democratic purpose in partnership and cooperation with various segments of society.

To subsidize, enrich, and potentiate the exercise of activities embodied in the triad — instruction, research and extension, we seek interchange with other institutions in order to develop relationships of mutual knowledge, exchange of information and to open up the possibility of developing cooperative projects.
