Ontario Funding Falls Short

The Conservative government of Ontario will be increasing post-secondary operating grants by an estimated $293 million by 2004, but the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations says once anticipated enrollment increases are taken into account the funding boost remains woefully inadequate. "A government report warned that close to $500 million will be needed just to meet the growth in demand," said OCUFA president Henry Jacek.
