CAUT hires new director of operations

CAUT has hired Chantal Vallerand as director of operations. The appointment takes effect this month. Chantal fills a position vacated by Jess Turk-Browne, who left CAUT in September to take up a post based in Pakistan with the National Democratic Institute.

For the last four years Chantal has served as national deputy director of the New Democratic Party of Canada where she was responsible for financial management, human resources and political operations and planning. Prior to joining the NDP in 2010, she worked in the advertising and marketing industry as a senior strategist and account director.

Chantal, who is fluently bilingual, holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from Laurentian University.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Chantal as our new director of operations,” said CAUT executive director David Robinson. “She has an impressive range of skills and expertise that will be of enormous benefit to CAUT.”
