The Mount Allison Faculty Association has won a significant victory for their members heading out on sabbatical leave. On June 10 an arbitration board found that a proposal to increase sabbatical leave salaries to 90 per cent agreed to during contract negotiations could not be unilaterally altered by the university. Following a 26-day strike earlier this year both parties signed a letter of understanding agreeing to submit any disputes concerning whether issues were agreed to during the bargaining process to arbitration.
