Part-time staff in Britain will benefit from new government regulations that will require employees on part-time contracts to receive terms and conditions which are "pro rata temporis" with comparable full-time employees. Malcolm Keight, assistant general secretary of the Association of University Teachers, said that "the regulations when finalized will go a long way to support the association's aims in securing fair treatment for part-time staff."
