Larry Dufay Joins CAUT's Research Department

CAUT has appointed Larry Dufay to the newly-created position of senior research officer. Larry has a M.A. in geography from the University of Toronto, and holds bachelor degrees in economics and environmental studies from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Waterloo respectively. Before joining CAUT, Larry was employed by Human Resources Development Canada as a project officer overseeing research into the Canada Pension Plan. He has a wide range of experience as a research associate with Strategic Communications, as a consultant with the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the Power Workers' Union, and as a radiographic technologist with the Plains Health Centre in Saskatchewan. Larry has extensive experience in the trade union movement, having served for nine years as a local president of CUPE and a member of the executive and provincial bargaining committee of the Saskatchewan division of CUPE. "We're delighted that Larry is able to join CAUT," said executive director Jim Turk. "Larry's research skills and trade union background will make him an invaluable addition to our staff."
