Maureen Shaw, president of the College Institute Educators' Association of B.C. was elected interim president of the National Union of CAUT by representatives of the 12 faculty unions that are members of NUCAUT.
Brian Brown, president of the University of Windsor Faculty Association, was elected interim vice-president, and Don MacGillivary, past-president of the University College of Cape Breton Faculty Association of University Teachers, was chosen interim treasurer. They, along with NUCAUT executive director Jim Turk (who serves ex-officio), will constitute the NUCAUT national executive board.
The first NUCAUT convention will take place in Vancouver June 8-9, the weekend before the 2002 Canadian Labour Congress Convention.
NUCAUT locals will hold their next meeting April 25 in Ottawa.
