I am writing to thank CAUT for the excellent article by Elia Zureik that was printed in the May issue of the Bulletin. "Palestinian Education in Disarray" gives us valuable information that the Canadian media has not given us so far.

The article gives Canadian academics concrete historical and factual information with which we can assess the injustice of the real situation of the Palestinian people and their demands. The Canadian academic world has said very little regarding this, in spite of our profession of academic freedom. The whole atmosphere has been vitiated by lack of knowledge and attempts to silence the dissemination of knowledge. Any real discussion on the question of Palestine is rendered impossible without this.

I am glad CAUT acted in the true spirit of academic freedom and accountability to truth and published this valuable article.
