After a year of negotiating, 935 faculty members at the University of Saskatchewan have a new collective agreement.
The three-year agreement, ratified in September, includes improvements to wages, benefits and "tenure" for librarians who, according to faculty association chair Robert Gander, "now feel more like faculty members."
Increases range from 3% in both 2002 and 2003 to 2.5% in 2004, with benefits and other salary adjustments of 1.18% over the term of the agreement.
The agreement covers terms and conditions of employment for faculty, librarians and extension specialists.
