Per course salaries for part-time faculty and librarians at Wilfrid Laurier University will increase over the course of a three-year collective agreement ratified this month. The deal reached on April 4 ended a two-week strike by more than 300 part-timers after negotiations fell apart over salaries and seniority. The improvement in salary narrows the gap WLU part-timers receive compared with levels being paid by competitors in the province, said Judy Bates, president of the faculty association.
