Academic staff at the University of Saskatchewan ratified a one-year extension agreement in February. The new agreement extends the 2007–2009 collective agreement to June 30, 2010.
Terms of the agreement remain unchanged except for adjustments to salaries, floors and ceilings of each rank and professional expense allowance. “All members of the bargaining unit will see a 5.25% salary increase,” said Jim Cheesman, chief negotiator for the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association. “The new contract also raises floors and ceilings and career development increments by 5.25% for all ranks and the amount available for reimbursement of professional development expenses to $2,050.” The contract also calls for the size of the merit pool at the college level to be increased by 40 CDIs.
