New Communications Officer

CAUT has hired Angela Regnier as its new communications officer, replacing Kerry Pither who left to join the Public Service Alliance of Canada in July.
     
Angela has had a decade-long career in communications and advocacy work for pan-Canadian member-based organizations, including as national director of communications and branch relations for the Women’s Legal Education and Ac­tion Fund, national deputy chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students, and most recently as executive director of the University of Toronto Students’ Union.
     
She holds a master’s degree in sociology from York University and is completing an LLM thesis on academic freedom at Osgoode Hall Law School.
     
Over her employment experience, Angela has written for a variety of publications and web sites and is active in social media, including Twitter, Facebook and Academia.edu, where her posts are known as
key sources of information on current issues particularly related to higher education, academic freedom and privatization.
