Petition to end Access Copyright at Western

A petition calling on Western University to end its Access Copyright agreement has been signed by 70 library workers at the university, ahead of the renewal deadline.

The library workers launched the petition last month, which calls on Western to “provide six months’ notice (by June 30, 2013) of non-renewal to Access Copyright to ensure that this agreement does not automatically renew for an additional year.”

The workers have asked Western’s provost and academic vice-president Janice Deakin for an update on Western’s agreement with Access Copyright and sent her a copy of the petition.
