University of Regina academics and administrative, professional and technical staff represented by the University of Regina Faculty Association have ratified 3-year contracts that expire June 30, 2014.
The contracts, which members voted to accept on July 31, include retroactive salary increases of 3%, 2.5%, and 1.5% for URFA’s 900-member academic unit and 3%, 2% and 1% for the 315-member APT unit. The negotiated changes also contain improvements to pension and benefits, expansion of academic freedom protections to include freedom of expression for the union’s academic members, and increases to professional expense accounts of APT members.
“This has been a long process and we thank our members for the strong and continued support that
was crucial in helping to reach these settlements,” said URFA chair Sylvain Rheault.
