Jeff McKeil has joined CAUT as its newest assistant executive director to replace Peter Simpson who assumed a position with the Ontario government earlier this year.
For the past 12 years, Jeff has headed provincial bargaining for the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators in British Columbia as well as coordinating local bargaining across BC.
He has served as a member of the BC Federation of Labour’s public sector bargaining committee, where he was also, since 2005, co-chair of the joint administration and review committee — the provincial body with union-employer representatives responsible for overseeing and resolving provincial post-secondary labour relations issues.
Jeff has also presented collective bargaining and organizing workshops for FPSE, the Canadian Labour Congress and the BC Federation of Labour.
A graduate of Simon Fraser University, he has a master’s degree in political science.
“Jeff is one of the most experienced negotiators in our sector,” said CAUT executive director James Turk. “We are extremely fortunate to have attracted someone of his calibre to join our organization.”
