New hires at CAUT

Seth Sazant and John Eustace are joining CAUT as assistant executive directors to replace Neil Tudiver, who retires this month after 15 years of assisting member associations with collective bargaining, and Nsé Ufot, who left in February to pursue other opportunities.

For the past five years Seth has headed national bargaining for the Public Service Alliance of Canada, chairing bargaining committees from a variety of employers in the public and private sectors, and in all regions of the country. He is a certified employee benefits specialist and bilingual. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from McMaster University and a master’s degree in political economy from Carleton University. Seth’s first day at CAUT will be May 4.

John Eustace is currently associate professor and head of the department of English and theatre at Acadia University. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a PhD in English from Queen’s university, he has taught at Acadia since 1997. He also has served Aca­dia University Faculty Association for more than a decade, where he honed his bargaining skills first as senior grievance officer, then as chief negotiator and executive officer. Because of his academic commitments, John starts works at CAUT on July 20.
