CAUT has appointed Valérie Dufour as director of communications. In the newly-created position, Valérie’s primary focus will be on strategy formulation, publication content development, feature writing and issues management.
Valérie has 12 years of experience as a journalist and editor with publications including La Presse, Le Devoir, and Le Journal de Montréal. She was also an instructor at St. Paul University, teaching contemporary journalism practices. She has spent the last four years as deputy director of strategic communications for the federal NDP.
“I am delighted we have secured the services of someone well plugged into Canada’s media network,” said CAUT executive director David Robinson. “Valérie is both a journalist and a strategist, which fits precisely with CAUT’s future as we map out our communication and campaign components.”
Valérie joined CAUT on June 1.
