A recent study by the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario paints a favourable picture of job prospects for PhD grads.

The study found that one in three graduates with doctoral degrees from Ontario universities have found tenured or tenure-track positions somewhere in the world, with half of them working as professors in Canada.

The finding is at odds with research published last fall by the Conference Board of Canada that shows the ratio at fewer than one in five.
