Voting in November, CAUT Council delegates endorsed the membership application of London-based Huron University College Faculty Association.
“The faculty association represents 35 full-time academic staff members at Huron,” said CAUT executive director James Turk. “CAUT is delighted to welcome the members of our new Ontario affiliate.”
Huron was incorporated on May 5, 1863 and is the founding college of the University of Western Ontario. Originally established as a college, the institution changed its name to Huron University College in June 2000. Huron, one of the oldest university communities in Canada, is a liberal arts university and theological college with a student body of about 1,000.
